Saturday, January 25th – The Midwest Alpine Challenge is a brand new team race bringing together the Midwest skiing community.
The Ultimate Team Challenge Begins!
Scoring
The Midwest Alpine Challenge will use modified NASTAR Handicaps. Fastest racer down each run will be the ‘0’ and all other racers will be handicapped off that time using the standard NASTAR Scoring Charts
Ski Challenge scoring will be used to calculate Medal and Bonus Points (how much you earned your medal by). Medal points : Platinum–5 points, Gold–4 points, Silver–3 points, Bronze–2 points, I Did It–1 point
Each team will score their top 5 highest scoring racers PER RUN (If you fall on the first run, you can still count on your second run!)
Final score will be your team score for each run added together
Individual Event Scoring: Top 5 LOWEST COMBINED TIME for both runs for both Male & Female

The Midwest Alpine Challenge is a brand new team race bringing together the Midwest skiing community.
With input from Midwest Race League, Midwest Masters, and The Ski Challenge, this new and unique racing experience takes everything we know and love from all forms of racing, and combines it into a new day of competition and fun!
Format & Schedule
Format
- Teams of 6 (Ages 18+), run orders submitted by team captains
- Single-Course Giant Slalom
- Run 1 – racers will run in seed order
- Team run order within the seeds will be a ‘first come, first serve’ basis. Full team payment and submitted team run orders will confirm your spot
- Run 2 – run order will be a full flip, slowest to fastest times from Run 1
Schedule
- 9am-9:45am Check-in and Bib pickup – Main Chalet
- 9:30am – Run 1 Inspection open
- 10am – Run 1 start
- 1pm – Run 2 inspection open
- 1:30pm – Run 2 start
- 3pm – Social Hour Main Chalet
- 4pm – Awards Main Chalet
